Database Administrator and Interpreter
Marq’s recognition of his parents’ sacrifice to give him and his siblings a better life deepens his appreciation for educational and vocational opportunities. This drives his enthusiasm to help working families achieve stability. He has years of experience working with at-risk youth, crew/classroom management, and teaching/youth mentoring. He has worked with diverse populations touched by substance abuse, poverty, and issues related to financial and mental health.
Amy Downing has over 15 years of experience in community college education, which includes teaching and academic advising experience working directly with low-income, first generation students. She also worked for over seven years at a non-profit helping low-income, single parents enter the workforce.
Christine is an award-winning business journalist with a media and corporate communications background. Her specialties include writing, editing, content management, social media, public affairs, marketing, and nonprofit advocacy.
She spent a decade in the working media and also has held roles in corporate public relations for a real estate investment trust, marketing director for an internet firm, and as an editor at a nonprofit.
Dominic Lucero was born and raised in Denver, CO. He deeply connects to the mission of WorkLife Partnership because he has seen the struggle of the working poor in his life.
His background includes coursework at the Art Institute of Colorado with a focus on audio engineering. His future goals include business entrepreneurship that are in line with his passions for music, art, and fashion. Dominic also hopes to continue giving back to the community, acting as a role model, and helping enhance the lives of people who want a better life for their family. He started as an intern at WorkLife and has transitioned to full-time staff.
Kylie graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2014 with a degree in sociology. Since graduating, she has worked with vulnerable youth, providing crisis intervention, case management, and facilitating therapeutic groups.
She is passionate about social change in the community, which is what drove her to pursue her Masters in Social Work from University of Southern California with a concentration in Community Organizations, Planning, and Administration. Her goal at WorkLife is to continue to educate and equip the community in the area of workforce development.
Social Work Intern/Navigator
Sydney has years of experience working with at-risk youth in New York City. She has worked with diverse populations ranging from those struggling with mental health issues, homelessness, and youth in foster care. Sydney has a passion for creating opportunities for youth and letting there voices be heard. Sydney is interested in collaborating with different work sectors to help employees with the barriers they face.
Sydney is currently working on her master’s in Social Work at the University of Denver. She graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health.
