Cindy Willard, Vice Chairperson of the Board

Cindy has worked in philanthropic strategy, grant making and program development for family, community and corporate foundations. She founded Full Potential Philanthropy where she serves as an advisor and strategist for foundations and individuals, helping them develop portfolios of grants and impact investments to advance social change. She is also a Senior Advisor to the Impact Finance Center.

Before owning her own business, she was Vice President of Community Initiatives and Investments at The Women’s Foundation of Colorado. There she led all of the foundation’s programs, including grant making, research, a leadership program, public policy and statewide engagement efforts. Prior to that position, she served as Senior Program Officer for the Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation, supporting a family and its legacy of philanthropy. She started her career in philanthropy as the Community Relations Manager at The Denver Post where she developed and directed programs in corporate social responsibility.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas (Go Jayhawks!) and is a graduate of the Master of Nonprofit Management program at Regis University where she is now Affiliate Faculty in the Global Nonprofit Leadership Department. She serves on the boards of the Colorado Nonprofit Loan Fund and WorkLife Partnership.

John Bernhart, Officer of the Board

John recently concluded a four decade career in public administration and human services in locations across Colorado. He has worked as a Social Caseworker, Grantsman, Health System Administrator, County Administrator and Director of Colorado’s Child Support Program – among other duties. As he begins a new life chapter, he is excited to actively serve on the Board of WorkLife as he recognizes and appreciates the value our services can provide to working parents and families, their employers, and the communities in which they live.

Peter Hancock, Board Member

Over the last 12 years, Peter has been motivated by his entrepreneurial spirit and consistently finds creative ways to deliver top talent with world class customer service. He also sits on numerous non-profit and workforce development boards to help make Denver a great place to work and do business. He has been a board member of WorkLife Partnership since 2009 and is a Business Development Manager for Red Oak Technologies.

He holds a finance degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Peter is also an Eagle Scout.

Nancy Patton, Secretary of the Board

Nancy has worked in credit unions for more than 10 years and is currently in Community Involvement with Public Service Credit Union. One of her primary roles is coordinating and teaching personal financial education. She is active on several Boards and Steering Committees across Northern Colorado including the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Credit Unions and the Larimer County Workforce Development Board.

Nancy has a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from Colorado State University (Go Rams!), loves to perform with local theater companies, and does her best to keep up with her husband, three married children, and three grandchildren.

Michael J. Amberg, Board Member

Michael joined the WorkLife Partnership board in July 2016. He currently works for Kaiser Permanente and is the Director of Business Development for the Northern Colorado region. Michael also serves as a volunteer mentor for Partners Mentoring Youth and is on the advisory board for the Eastern Colorado Small Business Development Center. Michael earned a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma.

Kendra Prospero, Chairperson of the Board

Kendra Prospero is CEO and Founder of Turning the Corner LLC, a Colorado-based career coaching, recruiting, and business cultivation services organization helping companies and job seekers transform the way they think about work. Her life mission is to end suffering in the workplace! For companies, Kendra and her team work with executives and human resource professionals helping them with the development, launch, and management of effective talent management, employee engagement, visioning and strategic planning, and leadership training. Turning the Corner has worked with numerous companies helping them find top talent and develop their organization for success. Her team also works with job seekers to help them find work they will love.

Sean Nicholi Koutsakis, Treasurer of the Board

Sean Nicholi Koutsakis is the Market Leader for the Wealth Management Group in Denver. In this capacity he ensures affluent and high net worth clients have access to professionals focused on banking, lending, investment management, insurance, trust services as well as business succession and retirement planning.

Sean has worked in the banking and financial services industry for 15 years, and Bank of the West for 4 years, with experience in retail, commercial banking, investments and insurance as well as comprehensive financial planning. Previous positions include Sr. Private Client Advisor, Area Sales Manager, Branch Manager, and Financial Representative.

He graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. While attending UCF he was extremely active with the professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and held numerous Executive Board Positions. He holds Series 7, 63, and 66 securities licenses as well as Colorado Life, Health & Variable Annuity License. He’s a Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS), enrolled in Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, graduating September 2016, and taking courses with the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies working towards the CFP® certification.

He’s an advisory board member for Single Parents Empowered and the Denver UCF Alumni Group. Additionally, Sean is a member of Denver Active 20/30 and continues to work with Junior Achievement, United Way and teaching financial literacy to members of the community, with mpowered.

Kathleen Brenk, Board Member

Kathleen Brenk, Director of HR Strategy and Implementation with CareerWise Colorado, consults on business partner talent strategy and program implementation for Colorado’s groundbreaking system of business-led and student-focused youth apprenticeships.

Past leadership roles include CHRO at Recondo Technology and VP of People and Culture at Trust Company of America. Kathleen is an HR leader who believes in creative, strategic solutions and shaking up past practices to get things done smarter and faster.

Her diverse experience ranges from acquisitions to complex compliance issues to internal senior executive coaching and everything in between. Her unique operational skill set coupled with her humor, adds business-focused experience to her extraordinary people practices.

Kevin O'Shaughnessey

Kevin O'Shaughnessey, Board Member

Kevin helps businesses grow as an entrepreneur, executive and management consultant. Building a great and supportive work environment has been a key part of his approach for some time. WorkLife Partnership’s goal to do the same resonates with him strongly because he’s seen the measurable benefits to companies and individual staff.

In his career, Kevin has helped businesses and not-for-profits scale to multiple locations across the nation. Most recently, he has worked in healthcare as an entrepreneur and consultant. Earlier in his career, he was part of the leadership team of two rapidly growing national not-for profits working to increase college enrollment and improve education technology.

Kevin lives with his family in Denver. He earned an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management and is a graduate of Leadership Denver.
