Goodwill Central Oklahoma: A Mission-Driven Partnership

WorkLife is proud to partner with Goodwill Central Oklahoma in their mission to help Oklahomans overcome challenges to employment. WorkLife provides expert wrap-around support oriented to job stability, offering resources and connections to address basic need challenges. This allows their Mission Integration team to concentrate on their primary goal of Career Mobility and Advancement.

Challenges & Solutions: Many Goodwill employees face financial hardship and difficulty meeting basic needs—challenges that can significantly impact their ability to concentrate at work and actively participate in embedded programming. Deployed as a solution to minimize time Goodwill’s HR team was spending helping employees navigate basic need concerns, WorkLife’s Resource Navigation services offer confidential, expert wrap-around support to employees so they can overcome challenges, stay focused at work, and build brighter futures.

  • Cost Reduction: Since modifying their Career Navigation program structure, including integration of WorkLife’s services, Goodwill Central Oklahoma is saving $80,000 annually, with some funding being redirected to wage increases.
  • Hardship Fund Distribution: WorkLife has distributed nearly $60,000 in direct financial assistance to employees with urgent needs, providing a fully compliant, risk-free way to support staff in crisis.
  • Time Reclaimed: Career Navigators are saving an estimated 1,500–2,000 hours annually that was previously spent helping employees navigate complex personal situations.

Impact since the partnership launched:

849
employees served
3,777
services (most commonly housing, food & financial support)
1,320
total engagements
Decreased Turnover: Since launching services, turnover among hourly employees has decreased by over 10%. Over 75% of Goodwill employees who work with a Navigator are still employed at least 90 days later.

“Thanks to WorkLife, my daughter and I were able to utilize a resource that helped us get a new propane heater. Ours had gone out two days before a winter storm and within a day WorkLife helped save us from freezing. Thank you WorkLife, we will forever be grateful.”

“I feel very blessed that Goodwill has partnered with WorkLife … WorkLife was able to help me find a daycare that was nearby and affordable. Even when I was too busy and had to reschedule calls, the team at WorkLife were patient and understanding and didn’t make me feel like my situation was too much … in fact, they were eager to help!”
