About Maria

Maria thrives on connecting people to each other and to resources that will benefit them, as well as identifying community connections that are missing and making those connections happen. Maria’s strength lies in her ability to problem solve and her belief that people can overcome barriers by having someone walk alongside them and guide them on their journey to success as they define it. Maria brings to WorkLife an extensive background in the Denver nonprofit arena with 20 years of service to working-poor individuals, families, and seniors—where she coordinated basic human services of food, clothing, and shelter as well as enrichment programs to provide holiday help and back to school assistance. Maria helped mostly home-bound seniors who needed meals, human connection, and counseling. She also coached those who faced mental health challenges yet wanted to work and assisted them in the process of becoming successful in competitive employment.
